SilvaCruise — Professional Timber Cruising & Forest Mensuration
SilvaCruise is a local-first application. By default, all of your cruise data is stored only on your device. You may optionally create an account and enable cloud sync, in which case the data you choose to sync is stored on our behalf by a third-party hosting provider (Supabase). This policy explains what we collect, when, and why. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
Unless you enable an account and cloud sync, all data you enter into SilvaCruise — including cruise configurations, plot data, tree measurements, reports, and any plot photos — is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. In this default mode, this data is not transmitted to us or anyone else.
SilvaCruise offers an optional account so you can sign in and sync your data across devices. If you create an account, we collect and store your email address and authentication credentials, which are processed and stored by our authentication and hosting provider, Supabase. You can use SilvaCruise fully as a guest, without an account, in which case no account information is collected.
If you enable cloud sync, the cruise data you choose to sync — which may include cruise configurations, plot data, tree measurements, reports, and associated photos — is transmitted to and stored on Supabase servers so it can be backed up and accessed across your devices. You control whether to enable sync. Data you keep local is not uploaded.
SilvaCruise offers an optional paid subscription (SilvaCruise Pro). All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service, to determine whether your account or device has an active subscription. RevenueCat may receive a pseudonymous purchase identifier and subscription status associated with your purchase; it does not receive your payment card information.
Camera: Used to take plot photos in the field, tagged to individual cruise plots. Photos are stored locally and are only uploaded if you enable cloud sync. Camera access is optional.
Location (GPS): Used on your device for map navigation, plot placement, and field features (for example, GPS follow and navigate-to-plot in SilvaCruise Pro). Your location is used to power these features on your device. We do not collect or transmit your location for advertising or tracking purposes; location associated with synced cruise data is stored only if you choose to sync that data.
We use the limited information we collect to: provide and maintain your account; sync and back up the data you choose to sync; determine your subscription status so Pro features can be unlocked; and respond to support requests you send us. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
SilvaCruise does not collect or use: advertising identifiers, usage analytics or telemetry, third-party tracking or cookies, or your payment card details. The app contains no ads and does not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to operate optional features:
Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver its function. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app; uninstalling permanently removes local data. If you use an account and cloud sync, your synced data and account information are retained until you request deletion. To delete your account and associated synced data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request.
When you export cruise data (CSV, XLSX, or PDF), the exported files are handled by your device's native sharing system. We do not retain copies of exported files or know where you send them.
SilvaCruise is a professional forestry tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
